David Mendez homered during his three-hit day on Sunday afternoon.
Once trailing 5-1, Maryland worked its way back with runs in four straight innings. Mendez hit his eighth homer of the season to give the Terps a 7-5 lead in the seventh inning as Maryland took its first lead of the day, but it didn't hold as the Wolverines improved to 30-17 (15-9 Big Ten) on the year.
Logan Hastings got the Sunday nod on the mound for the Terps and held Michigan hitless until his third inning of work, but the Wolverines used a four-run frame to claim the game's first lead. Hastings threw the first five innings for Maryland before turning the game over to Andrew Koshy.Mendez says hello to the pitch and goodbye to the baseball 👋

Nate Hawton-Henley continued his hot weekend with an RBI single in the fourth inning to get the Terps on the board. The center fielder finished the weekend series with six hits on three multi-hit games.
Jordan Crosland hit his 11th homer of the season in the fifth to plate a pair of runs and bring Maryland within two. The two-run shot brought his season RBI total to 41, which is good for a tie with Mendez for second on the team.
Ty Kaunas and Hawton-Henley both reached with back-to-back singles to open the Terps' two-run sixth inning. Kaunas came home on a balk before Brayden Martin plated Hawton-Henley with his second hit of the afternoon to tie the game at 5-5. Michigan rallied to outlast the Terps.
