Terps Open Against Johns Hopkins

Sept. 17, 2007

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's and women's swimming program will begin the 2007-08 regular season at home vs. Johns Hopkins for the season opener on October 26. Assistant coaches Demerae Christianson, Kevin Clements, and Jarod Schroeder will lead the Terps.

The Maryland men finished the 2006-07 season tenth in the ACC with a 0-6 record, 2-9 overall. The women placed sixth in the ACC with a 3-3 record, 6-5 overall.

This year, the Terps hope to capitalize on their competition. Throughout the season, the Terps will host two tournaments, the Terrapin Invitational and the Testudo Invite, and will also compete in two other ACC head-to-head meets against Duke and NC State.

Maryland will also host two exhibition meets before their season opener. The Black and Red Intrasquad meet will take place on September 28 and the Black and Red Invitational will start on October 12. Both events will take place at the Campus Recreation Center on campus.
