Wow! It's crazy to think that another year has started! I can't believe how fast this semester is already going by! Midterms are approaching and bootcamp is almost over (only one week left)! With last week off bootcamp everyone was rested and ready to get back in the gym.

The motivation and energy was high and right away we saw some big skills. Kyra Phillips and Brandi George showed off some huge vaults, which got everyone excited. We also started putting together routines on bars so we can start working on cleaning them up to get ready for the season. Allison Dama is working on a layed-out full-in dismount which will really make her a huge anchor to the bar lineup! The beam assignments also got more intense, but the team rose to the challenge. Kaitlin Joseph and Margaux Meeks showed some impressive series, and everyone is getting much more consistent. Floor was so much fun this week as everyone was showing off their new floor routines! We had a great time with Russell when he was here, and his choreography is definitely going to get the crowd going this season! Our tumbling passes are looking stronger and stronger as we all build our endurance.

Outside the gym, Kilee Taflinger, our strength coach, is working us hard, but the results are showing. Her Sunday circuit training is tough, but each week the team gets stronger and we push each other a little more. Between lifting, spin class, and pool training, everyone is getting into great shape for the season. As we head into our last week of bootcamp, everyone is ready to push that last little bit before our focus turns from getting into top shape to getting top routines.

As a team, everyone is really bonding well, helping each other when we have an off-day and pushing one another that extra bit when we know we can. Our captains Kelsey Nelligan and Brandi have used their leadership positions to keep everyone positive and motivated inside and outside the gym. The freshmen are adapting to college life and are really improving in the gym, and we are all so happy to have them as additions to the team!

Look out this year! The season just got started and everyone is already looking strong! GO TERPS!

Lisa
