Wow, October has definitely flown by! It's hard to believe that November is already on the way! We really stepped it up in the gym this week, since we are no longer in BOOT CAMP mode!! Brett and Duke were lucky enough to join us in our Thursday circuit lift this week. It was so funny seeing the coach's struggle along side us while we endured Kilee Taflinger's new challenging circuit lift. I am willing to guess that Brett and Duke are thankful they don't have to lift with us every week! :)
Since Boot Camp is now over, everyone was able to give that extra step of effort in the gym this week, and it really showed! We are continuing to put more and more routines together and everyone is looking fantastic. And with only 16 practices left before our first intrasquad, we have really began to pick the tempo up a notch. Candice King and Kyra Phillips had some HUGE layout full vaults this week, which will be great for our vault lineup! On Friday, our bar assignment was a "one and done" bar routine and everyone did such a great job at showing how strong and consistent our bar lineup is going to be this year! Brandi George is putting her new dismount in and it looks great! Also, Abigail Adams has a routine that is looking stronger and stronger every week! On beam we have been making huge strides at becoming more consistent. Michele Brenner's double full dismount is looking amazing! And Becca Pang was looking so strong on all of her skills this week on beam! While the floor assignments got harder this week, everyone pushed through and encouraged each other to accomplish them with ease! Kyra Phillips really stepped it up with her tumbling this week and is looking amazing! Talia Tossone and Brandi George have both put together a new tumbling pass that is going to make their floor routines even stronger than last year!
This week was also a pretty busy week in the classroom with midterm exams finishing up and meeting with our advisors to make our schedules for next year. This year is just going so well with the support and encouragement from the team coaches, and our amazing captains, Kelsey Nelligan and Brandi George. The whole team has really helped me personally as I am trying to get all of my skills back for this season. Thanks so much everyone for all of your encouraging words and support! I couldn't do it without you!
So now we are gearing up for another hard week in the gym! Be sure to read about it in next weeks Tumble Talk!
