With its 73-46 victory against Delaware State, Maryland won its home opener for the ninth consecutive season.

The Terrapins' victory was their first of the season and was also the first-ever meeting against the Hornets.

Freshman Lynetta Kizer scored in double figures for the second straight game, recording 13 points.

Junior Demauria Liles recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. It was the second straight game in which a Terp recorded a double-double, as Kizer had 12 points and 15 boards in the season opener at TCU.

With three more assists, senior Kristi Toliver extended her school record for career assists to 587.
