GREENSBORO, N.C. - After helping lead the women's squad to the Terrapin Cup Invitational crown last weekend, Maryland swimmer Jen Vogel was named Atlantic Coast Conference Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday night.
Vogel had a tremendous weekend for the Terps, competing on four winning relays, including the 200 and 800 freestyle and 200 and 400 medley teams. The junior from Hingham, Mass. also broke the pool and school record in the 200 fly (1:57.72) en route to one of two NCAA B-cut and first-place finishes in the butterfly. She also captured the 100 fly (53.86) and took second in the 200 IM (2:03.60).
It is the first swimmer of the week honor for Vogel. After a training trip, the Terps return to competition Jan. 16 against Villanova, Pittsburgh and Penn State at Eppley Recreation Natatorium.
