COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's tennis team recently announced that Alexandra Brand has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Terps starting in the fall of 2009.

Brand hails from Bradford, Ontario, Canada, where she was a talented multi-sport athlete at Bradford District High School.

In three seasons at Bradford, Brand has compiled a perfect 30-0 singles record. She is a three-time winner of the Georgian Bay Seconday School Girls' Singles' Tennis Championships. Additionally, she is a three-time winner of Bradford's Female Tennis Player of the Year.

Aside from tennis, Brand also competes in volleyball and basketball.

The Maryland women's tennis team begins the 2009 season on Jan. 31 at Purdue.
