BALTIMORE (AP) -
Marissa Coleman had 19 points and 13 rebounds, Demauria Liles added 17 points and Maryland (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) routed Loyola, Md., 83-52 Tuesday night.
Lynetta Kizer added 15 points and 10 rebounds, helping the Terrapins (8-2) win their ninth straight over the Greyhounds (6-3).
Loyola, which had a five-game winning streak snapped, got 12 points apiece from Kaitlin Grant and Meredith Tolley.
Coming off an 86-57 loss at Pittsburgh (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 16 AP) on Sunday, Maryland didn't display a crisp offense or shutdown defense for the first 10 minutes. The Terrapins committed 15 turnovers leading to 10 Loyola points in the opening half, but stiffened after a backdoor layup by Grant got the Greyhounds to 13-11 with 12:04 left.
Maryland closed the half on a 25-8 run, dominating inside with a 14-1 edge in rebounding over the final 7 1/2 minutes and outscoring Loyola 13-0 over the last 6:12 for a 38-19 halftime lead. Kizer tallied nine points during the burst.
The Greyhounds didn't score until 3:24 had elapsed in the second half, with a Tolley baseline jumper ending a 22-0 Terrapin spree.
