ATLANTA, Ga. - The University of Maryland women's swimming and diving team completed its first day of competition at the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in seventh place with a score of 48 points.
The Terps began the day with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, scoring 18 points for Maryland. Annie Fittin swam a 25.90 in the first leg of the race for the Terps. Captain Emily Smoak swam second, followed by Blair Cross and Yelena Skalinskaya, compiling a time of 1:43.00, the best of the season for the Terps.
Maryland continued the day scoring 30 points in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Maya Finkler, Jackie Davidson, Nina Rossi and Kathryn Snedeker finished fourth with a time of 7:19.97.
