COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland gymnastics team defeated the University of New Hampshire Sunday afternoon at the Lundholm Gymnasium, 192.875-192.625. In addition to the team victory, Terrapin gymnasts won all four events and the all-around.
The Terps began the meet by scoring a season-high event total of 48.450 on the uneven bars. Sophomore Allison Dama won the event with a career-best 9.875 score. Sophomore Brandi George matched her career-high mark of 9.800.
In the second rotation, George reached a career-best on vault by notching a 9.825 and placed first on the event. Gretchen Kittelberger vaulted to season-high mark of 9.650.
Sophomores Michele Brenner and George shared first place on floor exercise by turning in a pair of 9.825 scores. Senior Lindsey Bonomo tumbled to a season-high with a 9.650.
In the final rotation, sophomore Talia Tossone scored a career-best of 9.900 on balance beam; this mark is the highest individual score earned by a Terp this season. George matched her season-best of 9.825.
George won the all-around with a season-best (39.275).
The Terrapins travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. on March 1 to compete in the Tar Heel Invitational. Maryland will face University of North Carolina, University of New Hampshire and William & Mary. The meet is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Carmichael Auditorium.
