The Maryland gymnastics team recently took time out of its schedule to visit with students at Severn Elementary in Severn, Md. On January 23, the Terps visited Ms. Betty Gailes' classes. The team read to students and encouraged them to stay in school and work hard towards going to college.
"It's imperative as athletes and representatives of Maryland that we stress the importance of reading and education to our young community," said head coach Bob Nelligan. "The children always look forward to our demonstrations and class visits and I am impressed with how the team embraces these opportunities."
