University Park, Pa. - The University of Maryland gymnastics team concluded its regular season by scoring a 192.675 Friday night in University Park, Pa. The Terps placed third behind Nebraska, which won at 196.000. Penn State notched a 195.725 for second and Rutgers placed fourth with a 189.475.
The meet will air on the Big Ten Network on Thursday, March 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET and again on Friday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Highlights will also be available at www.bigtennetwork.com.
As a team, Maryland posted scores of 48.675 on vault, 47.300 on uneven bars, a 48.700 on balance beam and a 48.000 on floor.
The Terps started the meet on beam and hit six-for-six routines. Sophomore Brandi George led the team with a 9.800 mark, tying for sixth. Freshman Abigail Adams scored a season-high of 9.775.
In the second rotation, sophomore Michele Brenner tumbled to a 9.775 and a tie for seventh place.
On vault, Maryland scored an event season-high of 48.675. Sophomore Talia Tossone earned a career-best of 9.800, tying for sixth. Adams notched a season-high of 9.750.
Sophomore Allison Dama led the Terrapins in the final rotation by scoring a 9.875 on uneven bars, tying for second place.
