COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Head gymnastics coach Bob Nelligan announced Thursday that Rebecca Pang has committed to attend the University of Maryland in the fall of 2008.

A two-time Junior Olympic National Championship competitor, Pang is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and is scheduled to graduate with honors in June from Punahou School. She is member of Hawaiian Island Twisters and trained by coach Joe Rapp.

Pang will have four years of eligibility beginning in 2008-09.

"We are very excited to have Becca join us at College Park. She has a style and grace which is necessary in our evolution as a top program," stated Nelligan. "Becca also brings with her strong academic credentials assuring our continued academic prowess, something we are all proud of here at Maryland."
