COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The women's tennis team opens the fall season this weekend when is serves as host to the annual Maryland Invitational.

Play in the three-day, non-team scored event begins at 9 a.m. Friday at the Tennis Center at College Park. Action continues on Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament features players from 10 teams, including Dartmouth, Georgetown, Army, James Madison, UNC-Wilmington, Pittsburgh, Villanova, George Washington and Delaware.

The Terps return seven players from last season including sophomore Karin Lundmark, who led the team with 13 singles victories and senior Michal Amir who had nine wins at No. 1 singles.

Three newcomers - Jordan Hansbrough, Lauren Wolman and Jordan Harvey - also join the Terps this fall.
