Hello Terp fans!
This week in the gym everyone looked amazing! Coming out of our first meet with a win, all of us were very motivated to improve on our little mistakes from the meet versus Kent State. Throughout this week of practice everyone worked so hard and really came together as a team. Abbey Adams started working her full-ins again on floor and they look amazing! That pass will definitely be in her floor routine in an upcoming meet! Michele Brenner is working on putting a new bar routine together and it is really looking great! And Kaitlin Joseph and Kelsey McDermid both made some major improvements on beam with their flight series.
Last Friday we took our long (seven hours!) bus ride to Ohio State University. Being the first bus trip of the year, all of us were a little excited. We watched movies, took naps and did some homework, and the time just flew by. However, when we finally arrived in Ohio we were all very thankful to be off the bus!
We started the meet off with a great performance on bars. Margaux Meeks was back in her leadoff spot and hit an awesome routine that really set the pace for the rest of the event. After bars we went to vault where we saw an outstanding performance by a very sick Kyra Phillips and stuck Yurchenko tuck full by Talia Tossone. We finished the meet strong on beam by not counting a single fall towards our beam score!
After arriving back in Maryland from Ohio State, we headed right back into competition mode for our next meet against the University of Denver and North Carolina State University - a home meet at 7 p.m. this coming Friday. We hope to see you all then!
Before I close however I just want to say that our thoughts and prayers are still with Allie Dama and her family. She continues to get better from being sick, but we can't wait to have her back! Love you Al!
