Terrapin Men Perform at Navy Invitational

Annapolis, Md. - Dwight Barbiasz maintained his undefeated record and established a new field house record in his third performance at 7'0 or better. Jumping 7'0.25" in the high jump, Barbiasz placed first ahead of David Edwards-Brennan who wasn't too far behind at fourth with a jump of 6-08.25.
In the 200m, fellow freshman, Floyd Hawkes moved onto the All-Time list with his fourth place finish. His 22.21 performance moved him to tie for the 6th spot. New-comer, Chris Brown placed thirteenth finishing in 23.85. Zachary Ray displayed his consistency in the Long Jump as he finished first with a mark of 23'3.50, and placed second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.23. Jason Allen secured a third place finish in the Long Jump 23'2".
The 4x400m relay team, consisting of freshman Chris Brown, senior Anthony Walker, senior Josh Davis, and junior Jeremy Samuels (48.3), capped off the meet for the Terps with a victorious time of 3:18.14. Anthony Walker was fourth in the men's 400m with a time of 49.08 and ran a strong leg on the winning 4x400m relay (48.50 split).
Coach Andrew Valmon stated, "Overall, despite competing against larger squads, I felt the men were able to hold their own today," he added "We will continue to build on these performances in the coming competitions." Tommy Friscia had a solid performance covering the 800m in 1:54.62, which was good for a third place finish and 7th All-time on the Terps indoor list.
The men will be off next week and the Lady Terps will be competing at George Mason & Middle Tennessee on January 31st.
