The breaststroke event will be stacked with young, energetic swimmers for Maryland women's swimming and diving in 2009-10.
Alexa Hamilton was a point scorer for the Terps with a tenth-place finish in the 200 breast (2:15.42) at the 2009 ACC Championships. The sophomore was also a member of the 400 medley relay that finished fourth in the championships.
Other sophomores joining Hamilton in the breast event are Ashley Cox, Erin Stout and Martha VanLieshout.
Cox had a solid rookie campaign in 2008-09, establishing career bests in the100 (1:04.97) and 200 breast (2:18.01). Stout is a versatile swimmer that set six personal-best times last season, including two in the 100 (1:08.19) and 200 breast (2:24.23). VanLieshout will also factor in to the 100 breast after picking up a personal-best 1:05.34 at the ACC Championships last season.
Also expect junior Stephanie Parker to be in the mix after competing in the breast as well as distance free her first two seasons in College Park.
