COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland swimming and diving program left the pool and hit the pavement earlier this month, participating in a run to fight breast cancer in Washington D.C.
All 56 members of the swimming and diving team participated in the run which benefited the Betty Lou Ourisman Breast Health Center and Capital Breast Cancer Center. The event took place around the campus of Georgetown University on Saturday, Nov. 7.
"I felt that the run went really well," junior swimmer Annie Fittin said. "Everyone on the team had a positive attitude and it was great that we could take advantage of the DC area while participating in a great cause.
"We don't have much time because of our schedule to have a Saturday morning off so it was a perfect day to reach out to the community and help out a cause that we believe in."
