  • Maryland is in the second of a four-game homestand to end the calendar year of 2009. The Terps' next trip away from Comcast Center takes them to UNC Greensboro for a Sunday matinee on Jan. 3.

  • The Terps pulled away in the final eight minutes of their last game to beat Eastern Kentucky, 83-72. Greivis Vasquez had a season-high 20 points to lead four Maryland players in double figures. Vasquez has scored in double figures in five straight games, raising his scoring average to 13.6 points per game.

  • Sophomore Sean Mosley, who leads Maryland with a 14.6 ppg scoring average, also leads all players in the Atlantic Coast Conference in terms of improved scoring average this season. Mosley has improved his scoring 9.3 points per game and is among the ACC's leaders with a .630 field goal percentage.

  • Maryland's three losses have come to teams that are either in or flirting with the Top 25. The Terps have lost to Villanova (8th in last week's AP ranking), Cincinnati (25th) and Wisconsin (27th).

  • Senior Eric Hayes is closing on an important milestone. He needs just 52 points to become the 48th Maryland player in history to reach 1,000 career points. He already ranks among career leaders in 3-point field goals, 3-point attempts and assists. His .870 career free throw percentage would be a school record.
