
Closs Tabbed ACC Swimmer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland senior John Closs has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week announced by the league office today.
Closs won two events in the Terps' win over Georgetown Saturday on Senior Day at Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium.
Closs, a senior from New Providence, N.J., led the Terps with a pair of wins in the 50 free (21.22) and 100 free (46.79). He also took part in Maryland's second place 200 medley relay team which finished in 1:35.31 while his time in the 100 free set a new career best.
Florida State's Katie Sirounis was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week on the women's side.
Closs and the rest of the men's swimming and diving team returns to Eppley Feb. 25-28 when Maryland plays host to the 2009 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships.
