Profit Posts Sixth-Place Finish at Day One of ACC Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Four Terrapins posted top-ten finishes during day one of the ACC Indoor Championships today. Led by Kiani Profit, who placed sixth in the pentathlon, the Terrapin women closed the first day of competition tied for third place with five total points. Senior, Chanel Williams joined Profit placing seventh.
Profit scored 3779 total points in the event, earning 818 points with her fourth-place finish in the 800 meters, with a time of 2:20.44 and 724 points after she placed ninth in the high jump with a mark of 5-02.50. Chanel Williams finished seventh in the event, earning 3731 points. Williams placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.64, which earned her 987 points; the senior also finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 18-09.75. With their total points, Profit and Williams are NCAA Provisional qualifiers.
Katie Rogus finished tenth in the pentathlon earning a total of 3530 points in the event. She placed seventh in the 800 meter earning 807 points for the Terps, with a time of 2:20.44 and placed eighth in the shot put with a mark of 35-00.25.
On the men's side, Zach Roth competed in four events for the team. He finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 38-06.00.
