
Maryland Men's Swimming Falls to Virginia Tech

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Several Terps had solid performances Friday but the Maryland men's swimming and diving team ran up against a tough Virginia Tech squad and fell, 133-83, in Atlantic Coast Conference swimming action at Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium.
Maryland (5-7, 0-4) was led by freshman Andrew Relihan, who won the 400 IM (4:02.51) and registered a lifetime best in a third-place finish in the 100 back (51.79). Senior Andy Dilz continues to prep for a strong run in the ACC Championships with a first-place finish in the 50 free (20.74). Fellow classmate Eric Cullen picked up a win in the 100 breast (56.36) while Mitch Challacombe and Chris Rouchard each placed second in the 100 back (51.17) and 500 free (4:39.35), respectively.
Freshmen Stuart Butts and Sean Stewart delivered third-place finishes in the 100 free (47.05) and 100 fly (50.93).
The Terps return to the pool tomorrow with a Senior Day showdown against Georgetown. The dual meet kicks off at 1 p.m.
