COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team's home doubleheader with George Washington scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions. The pair of games between the Terrapins and the Colonials has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 28, starting at 5 p.m. in Robert E. Taylor Stadium.
The Terps (20-20, 5-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) have won six of their last 10 contests, including a five-game conference win streak over NC State and Virginia from March 28 to April 5. Maryland, which has played one of the more difficult schedules in the nation with 12 games against squads ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll, has outhit its opponents by a 277-204 margin this season.
Maryland returns to action this weekend, when it plays host to a three-game series with conference opponent Boston College (14-24, 1-8 ACC). The Terrapins and the Eagles will take the diamond for a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and wrap up the series with a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. Each game is free to the public and parking will be available in Lots 4B and 9B. Sunday's contest will be streamed live over the Internet by ACC Select.
