Vasquez Tied For Second In Assists: Vasquez also dished out five assists on the night, bringing him into a tie for second with Keith Gatlin (1984-86, '88) on Maryland's career assists list. Now with 649 in his career, he trails only Steve Blake (2000-03), who had 972.
King Of The Boards: FSU was outrebounding its opponents by a 7.7 margin entering the game. Leading rebounder Chris Singleton matched a season high with 14 rebounds, but the Seminoles were edged on the boards 40-34. It was just the third time this season FSU was outrebounded.
Hayes Inches Closer to 1,000: Senior guard Eric Hayes entered this evening's game needing 24 points to become the 48th player in Maryland history to reach 1,000 in his career. Hayes finished with 17 points on 6 of 10 shooting, leaving him just seven points shy of the mark. Hayes also lit it up from outside, knocking down 5 of 6 3-pointers. He is among the most accurate 3-point shooters in Maryland history, entering the day as a career .394 shooter.
