Men's Hoop Plays Host to Longwood

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland returns to Comcast Center on Tuesday to face a non-conference matchup with Longwood on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Terrapins split a pair of games on the road last week, beating Boston College and losing in overtime at Wake Forest to run their record to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Terps sit in fourth place in the league standings.
The game will be televised live regionally on Comcast SportsNet.
The matchup can also be heard across the Terrapin Sports Radio Network, including Baltimore flagships WJZ-FM (105.7), WJZ-AM (1300). In Washington, D.C., Tuesday's game will be heard on WJFK-FM (106.7). Pregame on the network begins at 7 p.m.

Scouting The Lancers
Longwood, playing as a Division I independent, is 4-14 overall this season. The Lancers are in the midst of a seven-game road swing, including a 75-63 loss at South Dakota in their most recent outing on Jan. 12. Longwood's last win came on Jan. 9 in an 82-81 triumph at fellow D-1 independent Cal St. Bakersfield. Longwood has also played ACC opponents Virginia (85-72 loss on 11/13) and Virginia Tech (85-50 loss on 12/30).
Senior Dana Smith is the Lancers' leading scorer and rebounder this season. The team captain averages 16.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and has five double-doubles to his credit this season. Antwan Carter is the only other Longwood player averaging in double figures this season, scoring 14.2 points per game. He is second in rebounding behind Smith at 7.1 per game. Carter has come off the bench in all 18 Lancer games this year.
