Meet Notes

The Maryland gymnastics team will head to Morgantown, W.Va. to take on fellow East Atlantic Gymnastics League teams West Virginia, George Washington and No. 23 N.C. State Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the West Virginia University Coliseum. Live stats will be available at the link above and on the Terps' schedule page at umterps.com.
The Terrapins are 3-1 on the year after last Friday's quad meet win over Temple, Cornell and Bridgeport. They earned the second-highest team vault score in program history with the score of 49.125 and freshman Ally Krikorian tied the highest Maryland individual vault score of 9.950. The score earned her EAGL Rookie of the Week honors. The Terrapin freshman class has claimed the honor the first two weeks of the season.
Junior Abigail Adams won the all-around with her score of 39.225. She earned a 9.900 on vault, 9.750 on both the uneven bars and the balance beam, and a 9.825 in the floor exercise. Her performance earned her the EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor.

The Maryland gymnastics team, currently ranked third in the EAGL, opens EAGL competition Sunday afternoon in a quad meet at West Virginia, with George Washington and No. 23 N.C. State also competing.
Maryland's 2010 campaign marks the 35th season in program history. The Terps stand 3-1 on the season after winning a quad meet last week over Temple, Cornell and Bridgeport.
This is head coach Brett Nelligan's first at the helm of the Terrapin gymnastics program. He took over this year for his father, longtime Terp coach Bob Nelligan, after serving seven years as an assistant.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
West Virginia is currently ranked fifth in the EAGL, with a record of 3-2 and an average team score of 191.825. The Mountaineers defeated both Pittsburgh and Kent State last Saturday.
N.C. State is currently ranked No. 23 nationally and stands atop the EAGL rankings. The Wolfpack is 1-0 and owns a team score average of 193.825, after defeating Rutgers last weekend.
George Washington, also an EAGL opponent, is 3-2 on the year with a team score average of 187.825. The Colonials fell to Temple and North Carolina last weekend, but also defeated Cornell, William & Mary, and Penn.
UP NEXT
Following their EAGL opener this weekend, the Terps will host a quad meet on Sat. Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. against No. 17 Denver, and EAGL schools West Virginia and Rutgers.
