COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland returns to its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with a home game against NC State in a nationally televised Saturday-night matchup. The Terps enter the game having won seven of their last nine and four of their last five. The only loss in the last five games was a two-point overtime defeat at Wake Forest. Maryland enters the game in second place in the ACC standings behind only Virginia, which has opened to a surprising 3-0 start in the league.

The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN2.

The matchup can also be heard across the Terrapin Sports Radio Network, including Baltimore flagships WJZ-FM (105.7), WJZ-AM (1300). In Washington, D.C., Tuesday's game will be heard on WJFK-FM (106.7). Pregame on the network begins at 5 p.m.

  • In their most recent outing, Maryland put six players in double figures in a 106-55 win over Longwood. The last time the Terps had six players in double figures was on 11/21/2008 when they beat Vermont. Maryland went over the 100-point mark for the first time since 12/13/2006 when it beat Missouri-Kansas City, 101-50. The 51-point margin of victory matched that game over UMKC for the largest in Comcast Center.

  • Sean Mosley went 8-for-8 from the floor and hit all four of his free throws to score 21 points on Tuesday against the Lancers. It was the first time since his 26-point outing against Villanova in December that he's led the Terps in scoring in a game.

  • Jordan Williams had his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds in just 15 minutes against Longwood. Williams comes into Saturday's game ranked ninth in the ACC in rebounding and is second on that list among freshmen.

  • Greivis Vasquez posted his 13th straight game in double-figure scoring with 10 points against Longwood. He is fourth in the league with a 17.9 points per game scoring average. He is also among leaders in the conference in free throw percentage, assists, steals, assist-turnover ratio and minutes.

  • Maryland has used the same starting lineup in all but three games this season. Only four starting spots in 17 games have gone to someone other than Vasquez, Williams, Mosley, Milbourne and Eric Hayes.

  • Maryland is facing its typically difficult schedule again this season. In this week's Associated Press poll, six Terrapin opponents are ranked in the Top 25 (#4 Villanova, #7 Duke, #17 Clemson, #18 Wisconsin, #19 Georgia Tech, #24 North Carolina). Four others received votes in the poll (Virginia, Florida State, William & Mary, Wake Forest).

  • The Terrapins have won five straight meetings with NC State and hold a 3-1 edge over the Wolfpack in games played at Comcast Center.

    Scouting the Wolfpack

Junior forward Tracy Smith is leading NC State in scoring (17.2 ppg) and rebounding (8.6 rpg) this season... Smith ranks 7th in the league in scoring and 6th in the ACC in rebounding coming into the game...

Senior forward Dennis Horner averages 12.9 points per game, while point guard Javier Gonzalez is scoring 10.2 points per game... Gonzalez is currently sixth in the league in assists per game with 4.7... Those three are the lone NC State players averaging in double figures...

The Wolfpack are 13-6 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, having moved up to eighth place in the standings after their 88-74 win on Wednesday at home over Duke... Smith had 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting in that victory, pacing five NC State players in double figures...

NC State has alternated wins and losses in each of its last seven games dating back to an 89-67 win at UNC Greensboro (12/31/09)... NC State won its most recent road game with an 88-81 triumph at Florida State (1/12/10).
