Terps Travel to Clemson on Sunday

    CLEMSON, S.C. - Maryland hits the road for the first time in 15 days when it travels to Clemson for a nationally televised matchup with the Tigers on ACC Sunday Night Hoops. The Terrapins are in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 4-1 league record. The Terps have won four straight and six of their last seven, with the only loss in that stretch being a two-point overtime defeat at Wake Forest.

    Sunday's game at Clemson will be aired by Fox Sports Net (seen locally on Comcast SportsNet) starting at 5:30 p.m.

    Both games can also be heard across the Terrapin Sports Radio Network, including Baltimore flagships WJZ-FM (105.7), WJZ-AM (1300). Pregame on the network begins at 4:30 p.m.

  • In their last game, the Terrapins beat Miami, 81-59, taking control of the game in the first half. The Terps forced 14 turnovers en route to a 48-31 halftime advantage and led by at least 15 points through the rest of the game. Greivis Vasquez and Landon Milbourne each had 16 points to lead Maryland, with Vasquez adding nine assists.

  • Maryland has held each of its last four opponents to 64 points or less (58.8 ppg). In the most recent NCAA national statistics (through 1/24), Maryland was 9th in the nation in scoring margin (now at +16.8 ppg). In conference games, the Terps hold a +13.8 ppg scoring margin.

  • Senior forward Landon Milbourne needs 32 points to become the 49th Maryland player in history to reach 1,000 in his career. Milbourne is shooting .574 from the floor in a nine-game stretch in which he's scored in double figures.

  • Senior guard Greivis Vasquez has moved into 6th place on the career scoring list at Maryland, climbing past Lonny Baxter on the ladder in the win over Miami. Vasquez needs 137 points to become the 6th player at Maryland to score 2,000 points in his career.

    Scouting the Tigers

    Clemson, ranked 21st in this week's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll, comes into the game 15-6 overall and 3-4 in the league... The Tigers begin the weekend tied for 8th in the ACC standings...

    Clemson has lost three straight games, falling by two points at Georgia Tech, losing 60-47 at home to Duke and 75-69 at Boston College on Tuesday in its last outing...

    Senior forward Trevor Booker is having another stellar season for the Tigers, leading the team in scoring at 16.0 ppg and in rebounding at 8.2 rpg... Booker is 9th in the league in scoring and 7th in rebounding...

    Junior guard Demontez Stitt also averages in double figures at 11.2 ppg and leads the team with a 3.5 assists per game average... Sophomore guard Tanner Smith is the third Tiger averaging in double figures at 10.1 ppg...

    The Tigers have five different players with at least 17 3-pointers this season.
