Head Coach Gary Williams

Opening comments:
"The young guys got a chance, the bench got quite a few minutes. We're working on some things now to try to get ready for next week and this is a big practice week for us leading up to the game against Pittsburgh. We're really looking forward to getting up to New York, playing in the Garden, and playing a quality team like Pittsburgh."

On playing Pittsburgh next:
"It's a challenge, they're good and there's a reason (Pittsburgh) was picked first in the Big East by most people. I think they have inside players that are good and guards that are experienced. We're just going to go play. We play a certain way and you see how good you are with what you do."

On the game and moving forward:
"The big thing today is that I thought we executed a little better in the half court, which we were looking for. But nobody is where they want to be November 14th, you have to keep improving. If you can't play in March, then it doesn't matter. We're working toward getting better each month and each week."

On Sean Mosley's struggles:
"He's struggling a little bit, but Sean's (Mosley) a competitor and he's gotten where he is by being a great leader and a great competitor. He'll get it back, it's just one of those things. He got in foul trouble today and it kind of messed him up. He's our starter and he'll be out there against Pittsburgh."

On the team's first week:
"I think we certainly got a wake up call against Charleston both offensively and defensively. We need to play a certain way. We played better today. We'll get out there Thursday night and we'll see where we are."

On the different lineup combination's:
"I want to be able to play people at different positions and have interchangeable parts. You're trying to see if you can still run your offense with different combination's and that's where it gets tough, but it will help us in the long run."

Sophomore Forward Jordan Williams

On conclusion from so far this season:
"We made a lot of young mistakes. You can tell that our bench is young. We've made some mistakes that aren't usually made. Last year we were probably a better team but we have matured a lot these past three games. We've been through a lot and there is definitely maturity as a team as a whole, I'm really happy."

On preparation for Pittsburgh:
"That's definitely maturity as a team and also as individuals to get experience to know what it's like to be at an intense game like that. If you can't get up at Madison Square Garden than you might as well play archery as Coach Williams says. We're all really excited about it and have definitely matured from those games."

Senior Guard Adrian Bowie

On the season so far:
"You can see what a team is made of. Especially in the game against Charleston, you can see what we are made of. The first three games were a good tone setter and now we have a really good team that we're going to play and potentially a really good team after that too."

On playing Pittsburgh next:
"Anytime you play against a top five team in the nation that's what you work hard for. You do all the work in the summer and preseason to play against a great team."

Maine Head Coach Ted Woodward

Opening Statement:
"Maryland had a good game and we struggled some. They are a really good team and they executed well tonight."

On playing an ACC opponent:
"They are an ACC team and a top-20 program in the country. We are always going to have some troubles playing against a team of that caliber. We needed them to make some mistakes and take advantage of those mistakes. But when they decide to play and execute the way they can, they are going to be hard to beat."

On Maryland's big men:
"They have some big strong bodies inside and they are really well coached. Obviously we would have liked to do some things differently, but I give them a lot of credit. They have some great athletes across the frontline and they are physically very impressive."

On moving forward:
"We are going to come into practice tomorrow and work on some things to improve. Whether we come out of games victorious or not, we are looking to improve. We have things to work on so we can try to get better throughout the course of the year. It's a long season and we have to keep getting better."
