Head Coach Gary Williams

On the game:
"By the way that Seattle plays you can see why the beat a team like Oregon State by 51 because if you let them get going they are very difficult to play against. (There are) matchup problems because they play four guards, you really have to do a good job with your big guys against their quickness. We pressed and had some really good contributions from some people off of the bench. We got into a little bit of foul trouble and we used some of our newer players so that was a good sign. A game like that even if you're up by fifteen they can take it right back down to 10 again. We learned a lot of things tonight and we are trying to win and learn at the same time this year. We have some good young players that are going to make some mistakes but they know how to play. Hopefully we will get better as we move along here. "

On what he learned from the game:
"We saw some things that we need to work on. We can be a very good defensive team. We are very quick and have the size we just have to keep working. It's not one of those things that will change tomorrow. We just have to get a little better every time we go out and a lot of that comes from what we do in practice leading up to a game. After our next game we have a couple of days where we will be able to work on some things and I'm looking forward to that. There are going to be nights where you look to put someone in and you're not sure how they are going to play but you have to ride them for a while. By the end of November hopefully we will have a good feel of what our rotation will be and guys will know what their roles will be."

On the turnovers tonight:
"We turned them over too, but that game is going to have a lot of turnovers when you play at that pace. We had some unforced turnovers which are the ones that we will need to get rid of. Teams are going to press you if they see that you are not very good at handling pressure so we need to show them that we can handle it. If we had any belief that we were good at handling pressure it got knocked out of us tonight so we need to get better at that."

On Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard's play:
"I thought they did great for their first college game. They came out with a lot of confidence and they are going to try some passes that they probably got away with in the past and you won't at this level, but they will learn. That's where you see if they are making progress if they don't go back and do the same mistake again. Terrell (Stoglin) steps to the line at some key situations before the end of the game there and makes some free throws. Pe'Shon (Howard) is very strong out there and a physical player. He's a big guard because he is 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. He can guard people bigger than he is."

Senior guard Adrian Bowie

On the team's balanced scoring:
"Once we picked it up and pushed the lead out, you could definitely see the balanced scoring and everybody getting involved. It was a team effort."

On what can be taken from the game:
"It's just a learning process. We need to work harder together as a team and we need to work on getting our presses set right and not turn the ball over as much."

On the play of the freshmen:
"They played well and they picked us up when we started off slow."

On the large amount of turnovers committed:
"We can't have that. If we do that against Pittsburgh, we're going to get killed."

Sophomore center Jordan Williams

On the team's slow start:
"We've got to stop starting off so slow and we have to start getting into the game a lot quicker. Once we got the hang of it, we did a pretty good job. They came back a little bit in the second half, bringing the score back to 10, but we pushed it back out to 30 so we did a pretty good job."

On what can be learned from the game:
"We need to start out better early. We only had two points in the first four minutes and that was terrible. We've got to step it up early and that's definitely the big thing."

On Seattle's quickness:
"We kind of expected it, but we adjusted a little too late. We need to play every team hard early, the same thing happened against Florida Southern. Once we got into our rhythm we played pretty good, so we need to keep doing that."

On the play of the freshmen:
"They played pretty good, it was their first regular season game and first time in front of a bigger crowd. I thought Terrell [Stoglin] did really good and Pe'Shon [Howard] did really good early making a couple of exciting plays."

On the double-double:
"It feels good, but it's only the first game. I think a big part of playing Division I and playing in the ACC is being consistent, so if I do that tonight but not the next night, it doesn't mean anything."

Junior guard Sean Mosley

On the play of the freshmen:
"I think all the guys that came off the bench gave us some type of energy, especially in the first half when we were struggling. They held it down for us while the subs got a breather and in the second half they played tremendous basketball for us."

On the slow start:
"We just came out rushing. We weren't setting up our offense and we were trying to score on the first pass. In the second half we slowed it down and ran the hierarchical offense and we got a big win tonight."

Seattle Head Coach Cameron Dollar

On getting out to a fast start:
"I think as a team we'll obviously take to time to get going and playing right. Playing a team like Maryland right out of the gate you really don't get to get your legs under you because every time you make a mistake or you do something you're not supposed to do they expose you for it. We've got to do a better job of moving the ball, sharing the ball. Obviously having 11 assists is not what we want. But other than that I'm really pleased with us as a team."

On the second half:
"Yeah they pulled away. We had a couple opportunities to score and we didn't and they did a good job of getting some run-outs. We probably ran out of a little gas as far as being able to execute. I thought our guys fought and competed which was good. We obviously have work to do. But overall, our first game out of the gate, I'm happy with how our guys competed.

On what they will take away from this game:
"We've got to keep getting better. One game doesn't make your season one way or another. This is a marathon and we just want to keep improving and keep getting better in different facets of the game. We showed some good stuff in some areas and then in some areas we didn't."

On the positives:
"We played hard. Making them turn it over 29 times at home is something I'm definitely pleased with. Getting 18 offensive rebounds as a team is something I'm pleased with. Getting 44 points in the paint. They've got good size so those are some of the things I'm pleased with."
