COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The University of Maryland gymnastics team will split into two squads Friday evening when it competes in its first open intrasquad meet of the season at 7 p.m. in the Comcast Center Pavilion.
"The Red vs. Black meet is a great opportunity for our fans to get their first look at the 2010-11 team," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "I know the team is excited to get out there and perform in front of a crowd. We'll use this intrasquad as a final chance to prepare for our first meet on January 9th."
The Terrapin team welcomes all fans and supporters to catch a glimpse of the team. For Maryland's five freshmen, the intrasquad will serve as their first public competition as Terps.
Coach Nelligan and the Terps will also welcome several celebrity guest judges and coaches from the Athletics Department.
Admission is free and all fans are invited to an autograph session with the Maryland gymnasts after the event.
