NOTE: The Terps' Feb. 5 meet with North Carolina has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Comcast Center. George Washington will also be competing.
The Maryland gymnastics team will head north this weekend for a dual meet against East Atlantic Gymnastics League opponent New Hampshire Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Terps (10-4) are ranked No. 4 in the league, while the Wildcats are ranked third in the EAGL and No. 26 nationally.
Maryland, ranked No. 30 nationally, is coming off of a three-win home quad meet last Sunday. The Terps earned wins over William & Mary, and EAGL opponents Pittsburgh and George Washington. As a team, the Terrapins earned their highest overall score of the year, a 194.500 and are averaging a 193.408.
New Hampshire is 9-2 on the year. The Wildcats are averaging a 193.411 and their highest team score is a 195.000. They are coming off of a loss at No. 22 Michigan State. Junior Chelsea Steinberg was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the current week.
The Terps are currently ranked No. 26 nationally and lead the EAGL in the vault, led by four Terps being ranked in the top ten in the EAGL. Junior Abigail Adams is No. 2 in the conference, freshman Ally Krikorian is tied for third, and Kesley Cofsky is No. 6. Sophomore Kyra Phillips is tied for No. 8.
The Terrapins are also in the top 30 nationally in balance beam. Senior Brandi George leads the Terps in beam and is No. 3 in the EAGL. Fellow senior Talia Tossone is tied for No. 6.
Maryland comes in at No. 34 in bars and No. 35 in floor exercise. Adams is tied for No. 8 in the EAGL in bars and is No. 11 in floor.
