Team Records and Series Notes

      Maryland falls to 16-8 overall and 3-6 in the ACC, while Virginia improves to 17-6 and 7-3 in the ACC. The Terps trail in the all-time series, 31-42.  

•     Head coach Brenda Frese is closing in on her 200th win at Maryland. After Thursday's game, she currently stands at 192-68 (.738).

•     Maryland will continue its ACC play Friday night when it heads to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest Thursday night at 7 p.m.

 

Team Game Notes

•     Line-up: Dara Taylor, Tianna Hawkins, Kim Rodgers, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This lineup is new for the Terps and is their 11th of the season.

•    Three Terps finished in double figures in Sunday's game. Tianna Hawkins, Lori Bjork and Jackie Nared all finished with double-digit points. The Terrapins are 5-4 when three players finish in double-digit points. 

•     Maryland outrebounded Virginia, 40-33. The Terps are 16-5 when they hold the rebounding advantage.

 

Individual Game Notes

•     Sophomore forward Tianna Hawkins led the Terps with her fourth career double-double. She had 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field and grabbed ten rebounds. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She added a steal and a block.

•     Senior Lori Bjork, the ACC's three-point leader, had 15 points on the night with 4-for-9 shooting, including a trey. She hit season highs in free throws attempted and made, going 6-for-6. She has now scored in double digits in 12 of the Terps' last 13 games. She also added a block and a steal.

•     Freshman Jackie Nared had 11 points in tonight's game. She made 4-of-7 from the field and hit 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. She grabbed four rebounds, dished two assists and had one takeaway.

 •   Freshman guard Dara Taylor tied her career high in rebounds with seven on the night. She also had seven points and four assists.
