COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland gymnastics team will honor its six seniors Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in a quad meet with No. 17 Auburn, Yale and East Atlantic Gymnastics League opponent George Washington. The Terps (15-8) will celebrate the careers of six seniors that make up one of the strongest classes in recent program history.
Michele Brenner, Allie Dama, Brandi George, Candice King, Margaux Meeks and Talia Tossone have been named to 13 All-EAGL first team on the five events and six second teams over their four years. Their success on all four events has been a major strength of the Maryland program.
Maryland heads into Saturday in a close race for first place in the EAGL. The Terps currently stand in third, but carry an RQS of 194.340 to West Virginia and North Carolina State's tie at 194.500.
The Terrapins are coming off of a 1-1 meet Tuesday evening against North Carolina and George Washington. Maryland came in second in the meet with an overall score of 193.375, while North Carolina won with a 194.000. George Washington was third with a 192.825.
Freshman Ally Krikorian, the current EAGL Rookie of the Week, and junior Abigail Adams tied for first place on vault, while Tossone won the beam competition. Adams also finished second in the all-around with a 39.200.
Originally scheduled for the Comcast Main Floor, Saturday's meet will be held in the Comcast Pavilion due to Maryland Women's Basketball's hosting of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
