Maryland finishes its season at 21-13 overall, while Providence improves to 19-14. Providence owns the all-time series, 2-1. Prior to Thursday's meeting, the two teams had not met in 20 years.
Head coach
Brenda Frese is now 254-103 with a winning percentage of .711. After Sunday's game, she currently stands at 197-73 (.730) at Maryland.
The Terrapins will return four of their five regular starters next year. They graduate two seniors,
Lori Bjork and
Emery Wallace, and return all other team members.

Line-up: Dara Taylor, Lynetta Kizer, Diandra Tchatchouang, Lori Bjork and Kim Rodgers. This lineup improves to 6-7 on the year.
Three Terps finished in double figures for the 12th time this season. Freshman Tianna Hawkins led the way with 14 points, senior Lori Bjork had 13 and sophomore Lynetta Kizer added 10.
Maryland outrebounded Providence, 30-26. The Terps were 21-8 on the year when outrebounding opponents.
The Terps shot 52.1 percent from the field in Thursday's game (25-for-48). This was their seventh game shooting over 50 percent.
The Terrapins outscored the Friars in bench points 17-5.
Maryland shot eight or more three-pointers for the third consecutive game. It was the seventh time the Terps shot eight or more this season.
Individual Game Notes
Freshman Tianna Hawkins scored 14 points in Thursday's game on 7-for-9 shooting from the field. She had double-digit points in two and double-digit rebounds in three of the Terps' five postseason games. She had double-doubles in two of those games. She grabbed six rebounds in Thursday's game and added three steals.
Senior Lori Bjork had 13 points in Thursday's game with her 5-for-9 shooting from the field and 3-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Lori grabbed two rebounds and dished two assists in her 33 minutes on the floor. She hit multiple three's in 18 of the Terps' last 22 games and had double-digits in 19 of the last 22.
Sophomore Lynetta Kizer earned her 19th career double-double and 10th on the season. She had 13 boards and 10 rebounds in Thursday's game. She added two assists and a steal.
