Women Take First Overall

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Maryland track and field team travelled to William and Mary to compete in the Colonial Relays this weekend. The women's program recorded more points than 29 competing schools and earned first place overall, breaking several Maryland records in the process.
Angeli Sivaraman set a new meet record in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 37:11.49. The junior earned first place and holds the seventh-best mark in Maryland history. Andrea Rothschild and Halsey Sinclair followed in third and fifth place with marks of 37:17.17 and 37:22.61, which moves the duo into eighth and tenth place on Maryland's all-time list.
Julie Fricke, Christina Nelson, Ashley Campbell and Ashley Cromartie represented Maryland's first ever female 4x1,500-meter relay team this weekend. The dynamic foursome earned first place with a mark of 19:02.76.
Maryland women continued their success in relay events, earning first place in the 4x400. Tolulope Olugbemi, Melony McKay, DeAnna Brown and Kiani Profit combined to record the sixth-best mark in Maryland history at 3:40.89.
In the throws, Kristen Batts posted the longest discus throw of her career at 158-06 this weekend. The junior earned first place and represents the third-best throw in Maryland history. Jessie Echard took third place in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-01, which is the best throw of her career.
Kiani Profit finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 13.84, which places her third on Maryland's all-time list in the event. The star junior also notched a fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 24.7 and took fifth in the high jump at 5-05, the highest jump of her career.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Ashlyn Sinclair's fourth place finish at 10:56.88 earned the Silver Spring-native the second-best time in Maryland history. In the men's competition, Greg Kelsey took fourth place and sixth all-time at Maryland with a mark of 9:00.12.
Alex Lundy recorded the fifth-fastest 5,000-meter run in Maryland history with a mark of 14:07.48, earning the junior fourth place in the competition.
In the 4x100-meter relay, Tolulope Olugbemi, Heidi Paul, Alexis Booker and DeAnna Brown finished fourth with a mark of 46.86. On the men's side, Chris Brown, Floyd Hawkes, John Davenport and Dareem David took fifth place with a mark of 42.50.
In the 4x800-meter relay, Greg Jubb, Ben Diestel, Max Bruno and Tommy Friscia joined forces to record the fastest time in Maryland history. The `A' team earned fifth place with a time of 7:33.37. On the women's side, Christina Nelson, Erin Matyus, Taylor Bumpas and Kelley Pry recorded the third fastest time in Maryland history at 9:01.52, which earned the women's `A' team fifth place.
Ashley Hendrix took fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 18-05.25, which is her personal-best mark this season.
Alexis Booker ran 100 meters in 12.22 seconds, earning fifth place in the finals.
Legonn Haskins took eighth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.77.
Tommy Friscia finished in eighth place in the 800-meter run with a mark of 1:52.84.

In the shot put, Moriah Young took seventh place with a throw of 43-00.
In the hammer throw, Kristen Batts and Moriah Young took seventh and tenth place with throws of 153-03 and 148-10.
In the javelin, Tara Miluszewski placed thirteenth with a throw of 111-00.
In the long jump, Tiffani Long did not place with a mark of 17-04.25.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Ashley Hendrix did not place with a mark of 15.06.
In the 200, DeAnna Brown and Heidi Paul did not place with marks of 25.44 and 26.17.
In the 400, Melony McKay and Tolulope Olugbemi did not place with marks of 56.63 and 57.03.
In the 800, Kelley Pry, Taylor Bumpas and Christy Goldmann did not place with marks of 2:12.28, 2:15.76 and 2:19.61.
In the 1,500, Christina Nelson, Julie Fricke, Ashley Cromartie and Erin Matyus did not place with marks of 4:33.50, 4:39.63, 4:40.32 and 4:48.08.
In the 5,000, Ashley Campbell did not place with a mark of 17:28.05.
In the distance medley relay, Ashlyn Sinclair, Ashley Hendrix, Christy Goldmann and Halsey Sinclair did not place with a mark of 12:25.42.
Men's:
In the 110-meter hurdles, Zach Ray did not place with a mark of 14.96. Ray did not place in the 400-meter hurdles with a mark of 54.89.
In the 200, Floyd Hawkes, Legonn Haskins and Dareem David did not place with marks of 22.20, 22.95 and 23.13.
In the 400, Shawn David, John Davenport and Chris Brown did not place with marks of 49.77, 49.92 and 50.74.
In the 800, Max Bruno did not place with a mark of 1:56.89.
In the 1,500, Mike Cator, Ben Diestel and Greg Jubb did not place with marks of 3:56.43, 4:00.38 and 4:07.07.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the `A' team (Shawn David, Zach Ray, Dareem David, John Davenport) did not place with a mark of 3:17.87. The `B' team (Greg Jubb, Ben Diestel, Max Bruno, Legonn Haskins) did not place with a mark of 3:27.55.
