COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland gymnastics team welcomed over 85 young gymnasts to College Park Aug. 1-5 for the team's inaugural summer camp. Gymnasts of all ages, including 21 of Level 10 status, came and worked with the Terps and coaching staff for a few days of hard work, learning and fun.
Not only did the gymnasts work hard in the gym, they found time for fun too. They enjoyed a pool party, color wars and a dance competition.
"I thought camp was a great success," head coach Brett Nelligan said. "The gymnasts worked had and had a lot of fun too. The kids worked on new skills and perfected old ones with coaches from across the country including club coaches as well as other collegiate coaches"
The Terps coaching staff worked with the campers, as well as members of the strength and conditioning staff and coaches from all over the U.S.
"Our staff was incredible! We wanted to bring in the best coaches from around the country so that these campers could really get the most out of their week," Nelligan said.
The Terps will host their annual Winter Workout in December. Check umterps.com for more details.
