Maryland Hosts Terrapin Indoor Invitational

LANDOVER, Md. - Maryland's full track and field squads will be among the 31 collegiate teams that are entered in the Terrapin Indoor Invitational, which takes place Saturday at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
The Terrapins won four events on Saturday in the Nittany Lion Challenge, which was the indoor-season opener. Amina Smith (high jump), Ashley Hendrix (long jump), and Taylor Bumpas (800 meters) began their seasons with individual victories for Maryland in strong fields at Penn State. Jon Hill won the men's high jump at 7-0.25 in his Terrapin debut after transferring from Texas.
In addition to the individual victories, Maryland posted some impressive performances at Penn State. There were 16 marks that qualified Terrapin student-athletes for the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships to be held later in the season.
Action begins on Saturday at 9:20 a.m. with the distance medley relays, and is tentatively scheduled to wrap up around 6 p.m.
