COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland swimming and diving team hits the road Saturday for a non-conference dual meet at West Virginia at 1 p.m.
The women's team went 2-1 last weekend, defeating Pittsburgh and Villanova but falling short to Penn State. The Terps moved to 7-2 on the year with the help of another solid showing from its relay unit. Maryland won both the 200 medley and 200 free and came in second in the 400 medley and 400 free.
Senior Annie Fittin continues to pace Maryland and is ranked in the top five in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 100 back (second - 53.50), 50 free (third - 22.65), 100 free (fifth - 49.27) and 100 fly (54.34). Junior Ginny Glover is currently second in the 200 back (1:56.02) and fourth in the 100 back (54.65) in the conference.
The men look to continue to post strong times while aiming for its second win of the season at WVU Saturday. The men boast a strong senior-junior duo as well as Mitch Challacombe and Andrew Relihan lead the squad. Challacombe is eighth in the 50 free (20.28), 100 free (44.81) and 100 back (49.51) in the latest ACC rankings. Relihan is third in the 200 IM (1:49.19) and fourth in the 200 back (1:46.54).
Saturday's action is the final road contest for the Terps before they travel to the conference championships in Atlanta in February.
