2011 Winter Workout

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team announced the date for its annual Winter Workout camp Tuesday. The camp will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, and will take place in the Maryland Gymnastics Training Facility located in the School of Public Health. The camp is open to gymnasts of all levels, ages seven and up.

This camp is designed to teach campers the fundamentals of gymnastics and is designed to meet the needs of each individual gymnast. Rotations of vault, bars, beam, floor, trampoline, strength, dance and flexibility will be included. The Maryland gymnastics' coaching staff and current members of the gymnastics team will provide instruction.

Last year over 80 gymnasts, including 20 level 10's, attended the workout.

The camp is $100 per participant and each participant will receive a Maryland Gymnastics Under Armour t-shirt. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., with workouts starting at 10 a.m. and running until 4 p.m.

For participants wishing to stay overnight in the area, the Holiday Inn in Greenbelt is offering a group rate.
