GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland junior Megan Lafferty has been named the ACC Swimming & Diving Women's Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Lafferty picked up her fourth straight 50 free win to start the season as she helped guide the Terrapins to a rout of defending America East champion UMBC. The native of Willow, Grove, Pa., also swam the second and third leg, respectively, on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays. Lafferty, who swam the fastest time in the 100 fly in the conference last year, won again in the event on Saturday (55.77).
Lafferty joins teammate John Hauser who garnered the weekly award on the men's side.
Maryland plays host to the annual Terp Cup Thursday-Saturday at Eppley Recreation Natatorium. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. each day with finals kicking off at 6 p.m.
