Tipping Off: Maryland ran its record to 9-3 on the season with its sixth straight win, while Samford dropped its third straight to fall to 3-9 ... Maryland completed an undefeated month of December (6-0) for the first time since 2008 ... it was the first-ever meeting between the schools.

Rebounding Margin: After the Terps finished with a season-high plus-21 rebounding margin against Albany on Wednesday, they followed it up with a 40-22 edge over Samford. Pe'Shon Howard had a career-high nine rebounds (all defensive), Alex Len had seven and Sean Mosley, James Padgett and Terrell Stoglin had five each. Maryland has enjoyed a rebounding margin of plus-10.3 on average over the last six games.

Stoglin Hits His Mark: Terrell Stoglin came out shooting the ball well again, knocking down his first two 3-point attempts for a hot start and finishing the first half 5 of 8 from the field for 15 points. The sophomore, who hit a career-high six 3-pointers against Albany on Wednesday, matched that by knocking down 6 of 8 against the Bulldogs. For the game, Stoglin was 8 of 13 from the field for 24 points, while also adding five rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Faust Finds the Touch: Nick Faust found his touch from long range, knocking down 3 of 4 3-pointers and 5 of 8 shots from the field. The freshman finished with 13 points. His three 3FG and five field goals made matched season highs, and he also added four assists while committing just one turnover.

3-PT Shooting: Maryland has shot the ball well from long range over the last two games, hitting 9 of 19 against Albany and 9 of 17 against Samford. Combined, the Terps made 18 of 36 (50 percent) in those two games. Terrell Stoglin (12 of 19) has led the way.

First-Half Notes: Maryland shot 55.6 percent and held a 22-8 edge on the boards ... the Terps held a 20-14 advantage in points in the paint and a 7-2 advantage in second-chance points ... Maryland knocked down 4 of 7 3-pointers (3 of 4 by Stoglin).

Second-Half Notes: Maryland shot 46.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range ... The Terps held an edge in bench points (15 to 12) and fast-break points (5-0), while Samford held an edge in points off turnovers (14 to 8), second-chance points (12-2), and points in the paint (12-10).

Tidbits: Maryland used a starting lineup of Terrell Stoglin, Pe'Shon Howard, Sean Mosley, James Padgett and Alex Len. It was the first time they've used that lineup ... Maryland reached its largest lead of the season when it went up by 21 with 13:33 left in the second half ... every player on the roster saw action.
