EAGL Release

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland gymnast Katy Dodds has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week following her strong performance against Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
Dodds set a career mark for the second consecutive week by earning a meet-high 9.900 on vault in Maryland's road win against conference foe Pittsburgh. Dodds also just barely missed her career notch on floor exercise, leading the Terrapins with a team-best 9.800, the second-highest score on the night.
"Katy has been such a solid competitor for us all year," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "It's really great to see her receive this honor."
A freshman from Gaithersburg, Md., Dodds has posted at least one sore of 9.800 or higher in each meet, with a total of seven on the season. Dodds' 9.900 on vault helped the Terps post a season-high 49.100 in the event.
With the win, Dodds and the Terrapins (7-3) remain undefeated in the EAGL and will look to continue their conference success on Friday at 7 p.m. when they play host to Rutgers, along with No. 18 Penn State and William & Mary.
