ATLANTA, Ga. -
The Maryland 200 medley relay finished second in school-record setting pace Wednesday on the opening night of the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
The combination of Annie Fittin, Alexa Hamilton, Megan Lafferty and Ginny Glover racked up a B-cut qualifying 1:38.57, topping the previous record of 1:39.76.
In the only other event of the night, Maryland was unfortunately disqualified after a swimmer took off early in the 800 free relay. The team's qualifying time would have landed a seventh-place finish.
The Terps look to rebound Thursday morning with the preliminaries of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and the one-meter dive.
