COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland softball team will play in the University of South Florida's Under Armour Showcase this weekend in Tampa, Fla. The Terps (9-8) will play five games in three days beginning Friday afternoon and ending Sunday.

Friday afternoon Maryland will take the field against No. 16 Nebraska (14-2) at 3 p.m. It will be the Terrapins' second game against a ranked opponent this year, after playing at No. 3 Georgia Feb. 13. Later that evening, the Terps will play Colorado State (4-15) at 8 p.m.
The Terrapins will play their third game of the weekend Saturday vs. St. John's (7-12) at 12:30 p.m. Following the game against the Red Storm, Maryland will play St. Joseph's (10-5) at 3 p.m.
The Terps close the weekend out Sunday with a noon game against Quinnipiac (7-6).
Most recently, Maryland split a midweek doubleheader with East Carolina Wednesday night. The Terps fell 3-2 in the first game, but won the second 4-2.
Juniors Bree Hanafin and Vangie Galindo are leading the Terps offensively. Hanafin is batting .419 while Galindo is averaging .404. Galindo is riding a nine-game hit streak dating back to Feb. 26.
In the circle, junior Kerry Hickey has the most strikeouts on the team with 64 this year and 489 in her career. She will be the third Terrapin to break the 500-strikeout mark.
After this weekend, Maryland will return home this week to play host to Fordham in a doubleheader beginning Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Rams came to College Park last May for the NCAA Regionals.
