COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar, Ana Belzunce and Jordaan Sanford all won in straight sets at the top three singles positions to lead the Maryland women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Georgetown Thursday afternoon.

Playing for the first time at the Cole Tennis Courts, the 34th-ranked Terps (10-2) also won all three doubles matches in picking up their fifth straight victory.

Sanchez-Quintanar and Sanford clinched the doubles point and improved to 12-0 on the dual season with a hard-fought 9-8 (6) win over Stephanie Wetmore and Tina Tehrani.

Belzunce's 6-1, 6-1 victory over Georgetown's Lauren Greco at No. 2 singles gave Maryland a commanding 3-0 lead.

Sanchez-Quintanar, ranked No. 121 nationally, clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Wetmore at No. 1 singles and improved to 11-0 in dual singles matches.

Belzunce is a team-best 12-0 during the spring season.

Sanford is not far behind Sanchez-Quintanar and Belzunce. The freshman improved to 10-2 in singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over the Hoyas' (3-7) Victoria Sekely at the No. 3 position.

The Terrapins will look to carry the momentum of the last three weeks back into the conference play.

Maryland dropped its first two Atlantic Coast Conference matches of the season, but will have a chance to get in the win column Sunday. The Terps face No. 11 Virginia at 1 p.m. at the Cole Tennis Courts.
