COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Terps continue to climb the rankings, jumping up to No. 40 in the most recent ITA Rankings Tuesday afternoon.
Maryland (9-2, 0-2 ACC) won its third straight against a ranked opponent Saturday afternoon, knocking off No. 56 Princeton 5-2.
The young squad has four new faces, three of them starters, but has already made a splash this season. The Terps two loses are the fewest through at least 10 games since 2003, before ACC expansion, and their No. 40 ranking is the highest since February 25, 2007.
Junior Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar and sophomore Ana Belzunce remained unbeaten in dual singles, improving to 10-0 and 11-0 respectively. Sanchez-Quintanar and doubles partner Jordaan Sanford are a perfect 11-0 on the dual season since teaming up together for the first time in January.
Maryland's 10-day break will help the Terps prepare for a grueling second-half schedule with visits from Top 25 Duke, North Carolina and Virginia over spring break.
Up next though the Terps have a date with Richmond March 15 at 2:30 in Richmond, Va.
