COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Abigail Adams was voted the East Atlantic Gymnastics League's Gymnast of the Week, the league announced today. Adams earned her first conference honor of the season after finishing just 0.4 points behind the nation's top gymnast, Sharaya Musser of Penn State, in the all-around competition on Friday.

"What a great honor for Abbey," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "She is having an incredible senior year."

Adams pitched in three of Maryland's six scores of 9.8 or higher, helping the Terps to their third consecutive plus-195 for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

The Terps split in their tri meet with No. 10 Penn State and NC State as they maintained their perfect record against conference foes.

Currently ranked 40th in the country in the all-around, Adams garners top-25 rankings in both balance beam (No. 23) and floor exercise (No. 19).

Adams and the Terrapins will resume conference action Friday when they travel just south to challenge the George Washington Colonials at 7 p.m.
