No. 26 Maryland Hosts Tri-Meet On Friday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland gymnastics team, ranked No. 30 nationally, will head south to Washington, D.C. Friday for a dual meet with George Washington. The Terps (13-5) will take the mat at 7 p.m. in the Charles E. Smith Center.

Maryland is coming off its third consecutive meet in which the team has scored 195 or better, marking the first time since the Terps have hit such a milestone in over five seasons. At No. 11 Penn State, competing against the Nittany Lions and NC State Wolfpack, the Terps posted a 195.125 to maintain their undefeated record against East Atlantic Gymnastics League opponents.

Maryland is led by senior Abigail Adams, who was most recently named EAGL Gymnast of the Week on Mar. 8 for finishing just 0.4 points behind No. 1 Sharaya Musser of Penn State in the all-around competition. Adams has earned top-3 honors in the all-around in eight of Maryland's nine meets this year.

This season, the Terrapins' highest ranking comes on vault, where it they are No. 27 nationally. Led by freshman Katy Dodds, who holds a 9.850 average on vault, Maryland has hit at least a 49.100 in the event in three out of its last four meets.

The Colonials are coming off their best performance in Lexington, Ky., in which they earned a season-high 194.100 while taking second in a tri meet with the hosts, No. 26 Kentucky, and Bowling Green.

Leslie Delima leads George Washington with a team-best national ranking at No. 47. Delima finished in third in the all-around competiton at Kentucky by posting a  39.000.
