
Maryland to Play G-Tech in ACC First Round

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Maryland women's tennis team will play Georgia Tech in the first round of the ACC Championship.
The Terrapins (13-8, 3-8), seeded 10th, will play the No. 7-seeded Yellow Jackets (12-9, 5-6) at noon Thursday at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C.
The winner of that match will meet up with No. 2 seed North Carolina (20-5, 9-2), the fourth-ranked team in the country, at noon Friday.
Maryland is 30th in the country according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, while Georgia Tech is 13th.
The Terrapins, under the direction of second-year coach Howard Joffe, knocked off the then 11th-ranked Yellow Jackets, 4-3, on Friday, April 1 in Atlanta.
